Individual classes are divided according to the value of the things that will be stored in the safe. For example, in a safe class 0 you can store valuables up to a value of approximately CZK 300,000 and in a security vault class V you can store valuables up to the value of approx. CZK 16,000,000. A special category is safes for storing data carriers. These are to protect the carriers not only against theft, but mainly against fire. The walls of these safes are filled with a special material to withstand high temperatures. These special safes are exposed to temperatures over 900˚C and the temperature inside must not exceed 52˚C. If this temperature is exceeded, the data carrier is destroyed.
Depending on the location of the safe, 3 basic types can be distinguished:
- furniture
- wall-mounted
- floor safe
Furniture safe as the name suggests it is suitable for building in or attaching to furniture. You can even purchase it in the certified version. The main task of the type is to resist prying. One of the main functions of a safe intended for installation in the wall is to hide the place where is built in. Its location should be taken into account already at the stage of planning construction or reconstruction. Floor safes are rather rare. The advantage is the hidden place of installation. The disadvantage is the demanding installation.
